Cashier

Job Summary

We’re looking for a courteous and dependable Cashier to join our grocery store team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing a smooth checkout experience, handling transactions accurately, and ensuring customers leave with a positive impression. You’ll also help maintain a clean and organized front-end area and support store operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a friendly attitude and assist with questions or concerns
• Scan grocery items quickly and accurately using POS systems
• Process payments via cash, credit, debit, and digital wallets
• Bag groceries efficiently, ensuring items are packed safely and appropriately
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness of checkout lanes and surrounding areas
• Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with store policies
• Assist with stocking shelves near the register and replenishing impulse items
• Communicate with supervisors regarding price discrepancies or customer issues
• Follow all store procedures for cash handling, safety, and sanitation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in a grocery or retail environment is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 lbs
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
